Bio

JJ has been with Excel for six seasons leading our 14s age group.  In 2022, JJ qualified the EXCEL 15 National Red team in 15 Open at Lone Star Classic.  JJ consistently qualifies her teams for USAV nationals. In 2018, after winning Regionals, her team was awarded an Open At Large bid. JJ is currently the head coach at McKinney Boyd and will be entering her 7th year.

JJ competed at Allen High School n her high school playing career before heading to Stephen F. Austin to play collegiately. JJ was both a setter and a hitter who posts a powerful arm. JJ was a four year starter at SFA and went to the NCAA Tournament in 2006 advancing to the second round with a win over Alabama. She garnered a litany of accolades at SFA including Newcomer of the Year, Setter of the Year (twice), and multiple 1st Team Conference Selections. After completing her eligibility at SFA, she began her coaching career with two seasons at Lamar followed by a season at Tulsa where she met her assistant coach, Tyler Henderson. JJ is the ultimate competitor who finds success where ever she goes. As a well-rounded player, she can train each position equally well and knows how to help kids find success on the court. JJ also focuses on leadership training while developing high expectations for her players.
JJ lives in McKinney Texas with her daughter Skylar.
