Yajaira Cadet, Head Coach

Since the end of her playing career, Cadet, born in the Dominican Republic, has gained ten years of coaching experience. She served as a Division I assistant coach at the University of Evansville, IN. She also coached for the Young Ladies Volleyball Association in Riverside, CA, and Black Hawks Volleyball Club.

Between 1994 and 2000, Yajaira played for the Dominican Junior and Major National Teams, both indoor and beach volleyball. She competed in several international tournaments, including Olympics qualifiers and a Silver medal in a North, Central and Caribbean (NORCECA) Tournament.

For her collegiate experience, Yajaira played outside, rightside hitter, and libero at the University of South Carolina from 2001-2002. She finished her college career at California Baptist University (CBU), serving as a team captain and helping the Lancers to back-to-back NAIA national championships in 2004 and 2005.

Other volleyball experiences include, six years of professional volleyball, five national titles in the Dominican beach volleyball league, and team captain of Bameso, that won the US Volleyball Open in 2005. Following her senior campaign, Cadet became a member of CBU and the city of Riverside Sport Hall of Fame. Cadet graduated from California Baptist in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Christian Studies.

She completed her Master’s degree in Public Service Administration at the University of Evansville in 2009. She is currently a Reading Coach at Marcus Elementary, Dallas ISD. She is married to Abraham and have three children (Isaac, Abigail and Abraham Jr.).

“I coach volleyball because I am passionate about teaching young players who want to excel in the mechanics, competitiveness and decision making of the game. My desire as a coach is to have the opportunity to work with athletes who are willing to invest 100% effort to improve their volleyball skills and athleticism.”
