EXCEL is a top club in the North Texas Region offering a full line-up of exceptional girls and boys teams in the competitive Dallas market. Our coaches are dedicated to developing the whole athlete, empowering athletes to achieve their goals on and off the court. Our teams consistently compete at the highest levels earning bids and medals at USAV Nationals and AAU Nationals.
Our Story
EXCEL was founded in 2006 by Sherri Hausner and Trish Barenberg, offering female athletes an opportunity to develop and train in the sport they love. Our mission at EXCEL is to empower young athletes to reach their full potential through exceptional volleyball training and a supportive community. In 2017, EXCEL opened Courtside Sports Center, a private training facility dedicated to EXCEL members. In 2018, EXCEL pioneered the introduction of boys' club volleyball to the DFW area.
EXCEL’s professional coaching team, comprised of certified and experienced coaches, is dedicated to developing the whole athlete, empowering them to achieve excellence on and off the court through elite training, comprehensive education, and a supportive community. We accomplish this through:

EXCEL members enjoy a spacious 8-court volleyball facility with a full eFit conditioning and strength training area. Parents enjoy a comfortable lobby with air conditioning and WIFI. We pride ourselves on creating a strong community for our athletes and families.

Dedicated College
Recruiting Team
Excel offers a personal approach in college recruitment for our athletes. Our well respected College Recruiter will act as a liaison between your athlete and the college. We will ask college coach’s questions about where your athlete ranks in their schools recruiting and other difficult questions you may feel uncomfortable asking.
Professional Coaches
We are fortunate to have a diverse coaching team with collegiate play experience, as well as college and high school training experience. Our coaching team motivates, encourages, and challenges athletes at all skill levels. They balance hard work, discipline, and fun while maintaining a positive environment. We limit the number of teams in each age group to maintain the quality of coaching our athletes deserve.

We train mindfully, focusing on technical training and athlete IQ across our membership. We provide a healthy competitive training environment where athletes can thrive and reach team and individual goals through hard work and discipline.
Dedicated Facility
Courtside Sports Center is the exclusive home of EXCEL Volleyball Club. Our 42,000 SQ foot facility is fully equipped for strength training and conditioning with squat racks, boxes, battle ropes, slam balls, wall balls, bosu balls, jump ropes and much more! Courtside is conveniently located in Carrollton with quick access to the Dallas North Tollway and Sam Rayburn Tollway. Parents can enjoy a separate, quiet lobby with complimentary WIFI while athletes are training.
