Kara brings 17 years of coaching experience to Excel.  She has coached a variety of ages in club volleyball ranging from 13’s to 17’s.  7 years of her career were at Texas Image where she was also the coordinator of coaches.  In addition to club, Kara has also coached middle school volleyball and head coached at Irving High for 2 years.  Throughout the summers she runs clinics, camps, and private lessons.  Kara is IMPACT certified.

Kara has played competitive volleyball for 15 years.  She earned a full ride to play at Texas Wesleyan and finished her collegiate career at Dallas Baptist where she met her husband Drew on the volleyball court.  She has been teaching for the past 11 years in the Irving ISD.  Kara is currently an instructional technology specialist at Lamar Middle School where she was awarded teacher of the year for 2009-2010.
