This is Sammie’s first year coaching at Excel and she is very excited to get to know all the coaches and players! She played for Excel from 11s to 18s and had a great experience with the club. She played Libero for her freshman year at Midwestern State University, and unfortunately had to quit volleyball the following season to pursue her BSN but she stayed involved with the sport by coaching at Zone-In Volleyball Academy in Wichita Falls for 3 seasons. She is a big advocate for mental health in athletes and wants to be sure as a coach that her players balance fun with competition and always know that their worth is determined by more than their performance on the court. When not coaching, Sammie enjoys her job as a pediatric nurse, and for fun she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and learning new songs on her piano and ukulele.
