Bio
Sherri Hausner is the Club Director and co-founder of Excel Volleyball. In 2006, Sherri and Trish Barenberg founded Excel Volleyball. They had a vision of offering highly competitive national teams while providing quality coaching to each athlete. The club was founded with four teams. Hausner coached two of the four teams. The club grew from four teams to seventeen teams in three years. Excel currently offers highly competitive teams for athletes ages 10 to 18.
Hausner is an experienced coach and former college athlete. She has over 20 years of competitive volleyball experience including college and adulthood play. Sherri has several years experience playing, coaching, officiating and organizing leagues, clinics and camps for youth and adults.
Hausner believes in using competitive sports to learn valuable life lessons. She believes that athletes will be successful if they are committed to working hard, open to continual learning and can master the ability to bounce back from mistakes. Hausner commented “…As Coaches we have a responsibility to lead by example and build leaders on and off the court…”.
Hausner has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Management Science from Clarke University. She earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Iowa State University. She moved to the Dallas area in 1998 to work for Ernst & Young as a eRisk Security Consultant Senior Manager. Prior to founding EXCEL, Hausner was the Vice President of System Implementations for McKesson Corporation. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her family and staying active through Alph training, running and cycling.
