Taras Borysyuk’s volleyball journey began in Germany before leading him to a standout high school career in New Jersey, where he helped the East Brunswick Bears secure back-to-back State Championships. He continued his playing career at Rutgers University while concurrently training with the Big Ten Women’s D1 team. This experience opened his eyes to the strategic and statistical complexities of the elite game, fueling a transition into coaching.

At just 21, Taras became one of the youngest high school coaches in New Jersey. Since then, his coaching resume has grown to include everything from U9 development to assisting with NCAA D3 collegiate programs and founding the New Jersey Juniors beach program. For Taras, the greatest reward is seeing the game come full circle—watching former players become coaches and leaders themselves. He is thrilled to bring his deep passion and “student of the game” mentality to the EXCEL sidelines to mentor the next generation.
