This marks Johnny’s sixth year coaching with EXCEL. Most recently in 2026, she led EXCEL 18N White to a 18 USA qualification in Boston. Her track record of success is extensive; in 2025, she was instrumental in qualifying EXCEL 15N Red for the Open division twice, following a successful 2024 campaign where she also led the 15N Red team to an Open qualification.

Before joining the EXCEL coaching staff, Johnny spent two years as an assistant coach at Cobb Atlanta Juniors in Georgia. She finds immense fulfillment in sharing her deep knowledge of the game with her athletes and watching them evolve into stronger, more confident competitors.

Athletic Career & Background

Volleyball has been a cornerstone of Johnny’s life since childhood. A former varsity starter at Plano Senior High, she played her final three years of club volleyball right here at EXCEL.

She continued her career at Kennesaw State University in Georgia, where her team captured three conference titles and made two NCAA Tournament appearances. While she primarily competed as a middle blocker, her versatility allowed her to gain significant experience as a right-side and outside hitter, making her a truly well-rounded player.

Education & Personal

Johnny graduated Cum Laude in May 2020 with a degree in Business Marketing. To this day, her passion for the sport remains as high as ever; she continues to compete on both adult sand and indoor teams.
